A challenger for the AEW World Title will be determined.

Despite the aftermath of Hangman Page’s match against Samoa Joe, the Virginia native still managed to wobble out as the AEW World Champion. So a new challenger has to be crowned. It’s now been confirmed that AEW’s Fright Night special will hold a four way match to determine who will go one-on-on against Page at Full Gear.

The four men that will fight for the opportunity are Samoa Joe, HOOK,  Bobby Lashley, and Ricochet. On the surface, the results of this match seems like an easy pick as Page is clearly in a feud with Samoa Joe. But it’s always possible that AEW has other plans in mind as there’s some viable contenders for Page’s world title.

Bobby Lashley is one that sticks out like a sore thumb. Lashley and Page don’t have any history, but this would be the first time that he'll challenge for an AEW World title if he did win. Hook is an interesting choice as it seems that AEW has put him back into the tag team division, despite showing signs of moving him up the card when he challenged Joe for the AEW World title last year. This could be a way to get him back into that upper card.

Ricochet has yet to challenge for the AEW World title and he seems one big win away from becoming a contender for the big belt. Ricochet has been mostly floating around the upper card, though after helping The Opps retain their AEW Trios titles, it does seem that another match between The Hurt Syndicate and The Demand will take place.

Every name is an interesting choice for Page’s next challenger, though as previously stated, it feels obvious who will end up winning this match. Still, this should be a great match.
