Tonight, a rivalry is renewed.

In the first Quarterfinal match-up of the TNT Title tournament, Cody Rhodes will take on his former best friend, Shawn Spears. While things have been looking up for the 34-year-old, Rhodes will always be haunted by the fact that he can never challenge for the AEW World Championship following his shocking loss to Chris Jericho at Full Gear.

On the other hand, Shawn Spears has fallen since his devastating loss to the Georgia native at All Out. The former WWE superstar entered the company with much buzz as the steel chair incident remains fresh in fans minds; however, Spears has failed to live up to that moment since.

For both Cody and Spears, this is about redemption and a chance to start new. While Rhodes defeated the Canada native in their first encounter, Spears is no slouch inside the ring and the 39-year-old has used deceitful tactics to win past matches. Who will advance into the semi-finals to face either Sammy Guevara or Darby Allin?

Also, Britt Baker looks to knock Hikaru Shida from the No. 1 spot tonight. The self-proclaimed “face of the AEW women’s division” has been all talk thus far; however, Baker is forced to back up her words when she faces the 31-year-old. Will Hikaru Shida overcome the doctor on Dynamite?

All this and more is set for AEW Dynamite on TNT at 8pm Eastern Time. Check out the advertised matches below:
