Adam Priest has found his tag team partner.
This past Wednesday, FTR tried to ambush Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, but Adam Priest interfered and helped fight them off. As you can imagine, Dax and Cash were pissed, so they challenged Priest to a tag team match on Collision Saturday. But Priest had to find a tag team partner first.
The AEW star managed to find one and he’s the nephew of The Dynamite Kid - Tommy Billington.
Billington and FTR have some history. In fact, the 23-year-old made his debut against Dax Harwood on the May 11, 2024 episode of Collision. He lost that match, but the second generation star gave such a good impression that Tony Khan continued to feature the young star. Billington came back and fought guys like Chris Jericho and Konosuke Takeshita before making the transition over to Ring of Honor.
However, Billington stopped making appearances once he separated his shoulder on Chris Jericho’s cruise. Billington wasn’t out for long as he continued to compete on the indie scene the following month. This is his first time back on AEW television since All In 2024. It’s not clear why Billington was taken off AEW television for so long, but it simply appears that Tony Khan just didn’t have plans for the young star until now.
This will be the second time that Priest faces FTR. Last week, him and JD Drake fought the former AEW World Tag Team Champions, but FTR came out victorious after going back-and-forth for about ten minutes.
This Saturday’s Collision really seems stacked! First former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley will take on Daniel Garcia in what’s expected to be a really good match. Mark Briscoe vs. Konosuke Takeshita is also going to be another slobberknocker.
