Preview & Predictions for AEW Dynamite:
On tap for tonight's episode, there will be a contract signing between Kenny Omega and Maxwell Jacob Friedman to make their match for the AEW World Championship at AEW Dynasty official. Obviously, all contract signings end up going awry, so whether it's just these two or this leads into the trios match Omega has with Brody King and Jungle Jack Perry against The Demand, or Swerve Strickland gets involved, I don't think it's going to be a particularly great night for Omega. Somewhere, someone will end up putting him down.
If Tony Khan wants to try to get anything more out of the pivot feud between Thekla and Mina Shirakawa (due to "Timeless" Toni Storm's injury), Mina and The Brawling Birds should beat The Triangle of Madness in their trios match by pinning someone from The Sisters of Sin, most likely. It's not out of the realm of possibility Thekla takes the pin, but Julia Hart or Skye Blue are more susceptible to the loss.
I fully expect Will Ospreay will get the win over PAC to give him some more momentum on his way to facing Jon Moxley at Dynasty. What would be the point of putting these two against each other only for Ospreay to look weak? PAC isn't the one to protect here, even with some interference from The Death Riders. I do think we'll see at least someone come out during that match to try to influence a win for PAC, though, naturally.
Here are your results for AEW Dynamite - April 1, 2026:
- Chris Jericho opened the show to say nothing other than that he had returned, milking the crowd's response for around 10 minutes.
- The contract signing between MJF and Kenny Omega was the typical trash talk followed by a challenge from "Speedball" Mike Bailey for a match later against MJF.
- Trios Match: "Jungle" Jack Perry, Brody King and Kenny Omega defeated The Demand (Ricochet and GOA - Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona)
- Adam Copeland and Christian Cage were looking for FTR. They came across Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero, so to send a message to Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, they decided to beat RPG Vice up and say that they'll be at Collision tomorrow, since FTR is scheduled for a match.
- Will Ospreay defeated PAC by pinfall.
- Trios Match: Mina Shirakawa and The Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor & Jamie Hayter) defeated The Triangle of Madness (Thekla & The Sisters of Sin - Julia Hart & Skye Blue)
- Darby Allin called out MJF. The Don Callis Family came out instead to announce on behalf of MJF that if Allin can beat a handpicked opponent at Dynasty, he'll get a title shot. That opponent is Andrade El Idolo. A fight broke out where Jack Perry and Brody King helped Allin fight off some Don Callis Family members.
- MJF defeated "Speedball" Mike Bailey by pinfall.
