Tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite (April 22, 2026), taking place at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon, will air starting at 8 p.m. on TBS and HBO Max.

This post will be updated throughout the evening to reflect live coverage of all the important information, noteworthy things that transpire, winners for all the match results, recaps of promo/talking segments and more. Keep refreshing for the most up-to-date results!

Preview & Predictions for AEW Dynamite:

On tap for tonight's episode, Darby Allin is set to have a promo segment to speak on his big win over MJF on last week's episode, which netted him his first ever AEW World Championship. Will it be a celebration, or will someone crash the party? Interestingly, Allin is advertised for that promo segment separately from him also being advertised to defend the AEW World Championship against Tommaso Ciampa, rather than the two just naturally bleeding into each other. That may indicate Allin will have his promo earlier in the night and save the title match for the main event. I expect Allin to obviously retain the title over Ciampa (as it would be wild for him to lose it this quickly) and to make this a regular thing with frequent title defenses, possibly also following up with "The Jet" Kevin Knight, who also said he was eyeing the title. If someone attacks Allin, though, it won't be Knight, but a heel.

Will Ospreay is set to face off against Mark Davis, whom he used to team with as part of United Empire. Davis went on the attack last week to piledrive Ospreay, who will no doubt be looking for some revenge. My money is on Ospreay winning unless there is a grander story to tell about The Don Callis Family getting involved.

Mina Shirakawa will also be in action with Hikaru Shida. This came about after Shirakawa is suspicious about seeing Shida's kendo stick positioned near wehre "Timeless" Toni Storm had been attacked, indicating Shida might be responsible for putting her friend and tag team partner out of action.

Here are your results for AEW Dynamite - April 22, 2026:

  • MJF opened the show to complain about the situation that led to him losing the AEW World Championship last week, blaming it on a number of factors and saying Darby Allin never would have beaten him if he had been 100% and prepared and didn't have a referee doing a fast count. Kevin Knight interrupted to talk some trash. MJF called Knight someone who has a ceiling that will never be world champion and should know better than to breathe his air and such. Knight threatened to whoop MJF's ass. MJF declined as he gets nothing out of it unless Knight puts the TNT Championship on the line. Knight agreed. A referee came out and MJF immediately walked out of the ring to say they'll have that match next week instead.
  • Interview: Ricochet gloated that Chris Jericho burned all of his bridges and won't have anyone to team with. Jericho pointed out that he doesn't need to find someone who likes him to team with, as he just needs to find someone who doesn't like The Demand.
  • Brody King defeated Lio Rush by pinfall.
  • Adam Copeland proposed a match against FTR at Double or Nothing for the tag titles in a New York Street Fight. If FTR wins, Cage and Cope retire as a tag team.
  • Hikaru Shida defeated Mina Shirakawa by pinfall.
  • Mark Davis defeated Will Ospreay by referee stoppage. Davis was going to piledrive Ospreay after the match, but The Death Riders circled him. Davis put Ospreay down and The Death Riders then dragged Ospreay's body out through the crowd.
  • Persephone is down to join Alex Windsor in fighting The Triangle of Madness on Collision.
  • Samoa Joe defeated Cody Chhun by pinfall.
  • Jericho's teammates will be The Hurt Syndicate's Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley.
  • Darby Allin cut a promo about what being world champion means to him. MJF interrupted, demanding to be given back his title. Allin naturally refused to and would rather give shots to others who deserve it more. Allin plans on putting the title on the line every week, leading to his challenger for tonight coming out in Tommaso Ciampa, who had a face off with MJF while passing each other on the entrance ramp.
  • Singles Match for the AEW World Championship: Darby Allin (c) retained over Tommaso Ciampa by submission. Allin and Ciampa embraced after the match, with Ciampa putting him over as champion. Brody King then came out and said that he spoke to Tony Khan and if Allin permits it, he's got the next title shot next week. Allin accepted.
