The latest edition of AEW Dynamite for August 22, 2020 took place at Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida. It was a pretaped episode that had had some spoilers leaked out, but some of those spoilers were proven to be wrong. Oddly enough, some of them were dead on.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

— FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) defeated Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen) by pinfall. FTR now has Tully Blanchard in their corner.

— Jon Moxley cut a promo about how MJF is talented, but while he wants MJF to be right in that he's the man to lead the company for the next 25 years, that's not starting on September 5th. MJF cut a promo about how the Paradigm Shift needs to be banned.

— Jurassic Express (Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy with Marko Stunt) and The Natural Nightmares (Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall with Allie and Brandi Rhodes) defeated The Lucha Bros (Pentagon Jr and Rey Fenix) and The Butcher and The Blade by pinfall. Eddie Kingston then came out after the match to align himself with The Lucha Bros, The Butcher and The Blade.

— Dr. Britt Baker offered Penelope Ford free makeup for one year from Reba to help her out against Big Swole. That match will be a 3-on-1 handicap match.

— Orange Cassidy and Chris Jericho will fight in a Mimosa Mayhem Match at All Out.

— The Elite (Matt and Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega) defeated Dark Order (Alan Angels, Alex Reynolds and John Silver) by pinfall.

— Next week, there will be a tag team gauntlet to determine who gets a title shot at All Out.

— Darby Allin defeated Will Hobbs by pinfall. After the match, Taz came out with a little surprise for Allin, which was Ricky Starks dressed as Allin. Brian Cage attacked Allin from behind with the FTW Championship and they both continued to beat down on him.

— Sammy Guevara was attacked by Matt Hardy. They will fight next week in a tables match.

— Thunder Rosa, the NWA Women's World Champion, announced she will be fighting Hikaru Shida at All Out.

— Ivelisse and Diamante defeated The Nightmare Sisters (Brandi Rhodes and Allie) by pinfall to win the Deadly Draw AEW Women's Team Team Cup Tournament.

— AEW TNT Championship Match: Brodie Lee defeated Cody by pinfall to win the title.
