Could the “Southern Psycho” be All Elite soon?
According to Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net, AEW officials are reportedly interested in the top Major League Wrestling star again. Earlier this year, the company had interest in Warner, with numerous sources spotting him backstage at AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view; however, it was revealed on the Wrestling Observer that Warner was unable to sign with AEW due to his multi-year contract with MLW.
It’s unclear exactly when Warner’s deal with the independent promotion ends. Guys like Brian Pillman Jr, MJF, and Jimmy Havoc have managed to work for AEW while under an MLW contract; however, Warner himself doesn’t exactly know if his current deal allows him to compete in the new promotion:
“Hell, I don’t even know. I would have to look at [my contract] and take a look at it. I’m not sure. I would say that that goes to some agent or something, but you know ol’ Mancer ain’t got no damn agent.” Warner said during his interview with Wrestling Inc.
Warner is known for his hardcore style on the indie circuit. The “Southern Psycho” is a former CZW World Heavyweight Champion, Unsanctioned Pro Hardcore Champion, and currently a AAW Heavyweight Champion. Warner is mainly known for his time in MLW, where the Tennessee native has had bloody wars with Jimmy Havoc, Sami Callihan, Bestia 666, and LA Park.
It should be interesting to see how Warner makes the transition to AEW, if he does sign with the company eventually. Havoc – who was also a Death Match style wrestler – was heavily forced to change up his style in AEW, thus Warner might not be able to do his Death Style matches on AEW television like in MLW or CZW. We’ll keep you updated if more news comes out regarding Warner and AEW.
