Tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite advanced two tournaments going on right now in All Elite Wrestling, with the remaining semifinals bout of the AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship tournament taking place as well as some more bouts in the Continental Classic.
As far as the women's tag title tournament goes, The Timeless Love Bombs ("Timeless" Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa defeated The Megaproblems (Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir) in a Hardcore Holiday Death Match—the stipulation Storm and Shirakawa had chosen for this match by winning the four-way at AEW Full Gear.
The finish came about when Luther returned, dressed in a Santa Claus outfit, to give Storm a shoe she would use against Shafir to pick up the pinfall.
As such, The Timeless Love Bombs will be in the finals against The Babes of Wrath, Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale, which has been announced for next week's episode of AEW Dynamite Winter is Coming.
In terms of the Continental Classic tournament, three more matches went down and two wrestlers are now atop their leaderboards.
In the Gold League, Kazuchika Okada defeated PAC to get his first three points on the board. PAC now sits at a 1-1 record and 3 points. Kevin Knight, having previously beaten Darby Allin, lost to Kyle Fletcher, who has his second win and is in the lead with 6 points.
"Speedball" Mike Bailey continues to sit at 0 points, as does Darby Allin, who has been said to not be medically cleared to compete. No announcement was made regarding whether or not that will prevent him from continuing with the tournament, but it was stated that there may be an update on his condition come this Saturday's episode of AEW Collision.
In the Blue League, the main event was Claudio Castagnoli against Jon Moxley. The two Death Riders teammates reached the 15 minute mark, heading toward a 20-minute time limit draw, but Castagnoli was able to pick up a pinfall and put himself at 6 points for his league. Moxley still has 3 points, tied with Konosuke Takeshita for runner-up.
Takeshita and Moxley will face off on Collision, as well as Castagnoli and Mascara Dorada, and Orange Cassidy vs. Roderick Strong.
Cassidy, Dorada, and Strong all sit at 0 points in the Blue League and are in need of picking up some points.
