Brodido has been quite the surprise as of late.

When Brody King and Bandido started tagging in the World Tag Team tournament, nobody expected the random duo to stand out in a stacked division that featured plenty of teams that weren't even part of the tournament.

It was well known that Brody King and Bandido could go as singles stars. Heck, Brody had plenty of experience as a tag team wrestler thanks to his time in the House of Black. But these two have produced some of the best tag team matches in 2025 and it was well earned when King and Bandido beat FTR and The Hurt Syndicate.

The duo just defended those belts since their spectacular win at Forbidden Door, but when asked about his big win at the joint AEW x NJPW pay-per-view, Bandido expressed his excitement over facing numerous teams on the AEW roster.

“Now it means like- I need to take care of Brody.” Bandido said on the Battleground podcast, “I really need to take care of me, you know? Now the tag team division is looking fast. So that’s amazing, and I’m very excited for the for the next months ahead, you know? I really want to do tag team matches with every tag team here in AEW.”

Not surprisingly, Bandido didn’t expect to be walking out of London as the new AEW World Tag Team Champions. FTR were multi-time tag team champions and they seemed primed to win the belts thanks to their pending feud with the reunited Christian Cage and Adam Copeland. Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin felt unbeatable at this point. So when the new champions got the three count, Bandido described it as a “fantastic” moment.

“That was amazing. That was fantastic. In that moment, I was very happy, same as Brody, you know? We didn’t expect that moment, and we lived together for our first time, and that’s fantastic for both.”

What’s next for the tag team champs?

That is currently unknown. Bandido is coming off a fantastic match against Hechicero at Death Before Dishonor. As of this writing, neither him or Brody King have a match for All Out. With the show being a couple of weeks away, it shouldn’t be too long until we find out the next challengers for those prestigious tag belts. As always, we’ll keep you posted when we get more information about King and Bandido tag team title challengers.
