Preview & Predictions for AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2025:

On tap for tonight's event, MJF and Athena have used their Casino Gauntlet title shots to challenge "Hangman" Adam Page and "Timeless" Toni Storm for their AEW Men's & Women's World Championships respectively. This may bury the lead in some ways, but I think both titles are staying put where they are. I don't anticipate either challenger walking out as the new champion. In particular, I think MJF is almost guaranteed to lose, while Athena might stand a chance to win. But the likelihood MJF goes into CMLL to drop their title to Mistico while holding the AEW title is very low, and I don't think Athena will hold both the ROH and AEW Women's World Championships at the same time. The thing with MJF is that he still has the contract available to use after this, so even though the title can change hands on a disqualification or count-out, I think that's just a red herring. MJF loses, is furious that he had the odds stacked and still came up short, and then, eventually in the future, steals the title from Page a few months from now.

Kyle Fletcher will also retain his TNT title over Hiromu Takahashi, and Zack Sabre Jr. will retain the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship over Nigel McGuinness (possibly through interference directly from Daniel Garcia). I also anticipate Mercedes Mone retains the TBS title over her three opponents, and I don't think Kazuchika Okada is in jeopardy of losing the AEW Unified Championship to Swerve Strickland.

One belt I do think could change hands, though, is for The Hurt Syndicate to drop the tag titles to FTR in particular, who can then in turn lose those titles to Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, who lose to Kip Sabian and Killswitch here due to communication issues that they need to sort out over the given time to allow FTR to have a bit of a run. FTR probably pins one of Bandido or Brody King so Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin don't need to take a pinfall loss and can feud with FTR separately for a bit. Eventually, Cage and Cope get the hang of things, resolidify their team, and win the titles from FTR.

As far as the Lights Out Steel Cage match is concerned, I'm expecting the babyfaces to come out on top, as I think we're in the downfall of the Death Riders and that needs to continue.
