Alex Windsor Gets Another Opportunity At The TBS Championship On AEW DYNAMITE

The TBS Champion crossed the line last week and Alex Windsor is coming for more than Mercedes Mone's title this Wednesday. Can Alex beat the "CEO" of AEW?

A big match on Dynamite has been confirmed.

At Forbidden Door, Alex Windsor came seconds away from winning the TBS Championship, but Mercedes Mone made sure that didn’t happen. The “CEO” rubbed that win and her 80 plus belts in Windsor’s face, but Mercedes may have crossed the line on Dynamite.

Mone mentioned Will Ospreay and Windsor’s relationship with the former International Champion. Windsor was not a happy woman when she walked into Collision on Saturday and she made quick work of Alex Vox. She then challenged Mercedes to a rematch and the TBS Champion accepted.

This will be the first official one-on-one match between Mercedes Mone and Alex Windsor. This will be Mone's 20th title defense. Mercedes Mone has managed to successfully retain her belt for 450 plus days, beating Athena, Kris Statlander, Mina Shirakawa, and Anna Jay throughout her lengthy run.

Windsor is 0 - 2 when it comes to title matches thus far. She came extremely close, but failed to beat Athena and if she loses to Mercedes then that could put her in the back of the line. Despite failing to win any titles in AEW/ROH, Windsor has a strong resume as she’s a former WOS Women's Champion, RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Champion, and EVE Champion. Could she add the TBS title to her resume Wednesday?

Thus far, that's the only title match confirmed for the upcoming Dynamite episode. There’s actually a genuine possibility that Windsor could win the TBS title. Currently, AEW doesn’t have any other challengers lined up for the belt and it could damage Windsor’s credibility if she loses another title match this soon.

The show will also feature both the AEW World Champion and TNT Champion in action. The first Dynamite in September really looks to be shaping up to something special as we head into the company’s next pay-per-view.

Check out the advertised AEW Dynamite episode for Wednesday (9/3):

  • ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, Kenny Omega, and JetSpeed (Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight) vs. Kyle Fletcher, Josh Alexander, and the Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson)
  • Taz honored
  • AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Mone (c) vs. Alex Windsor
