The Pride of Pro Wrestling has lost his mind.

Earlier this year, The Acclaimed broke up. After being one of the most entertaining acts for nearly five years, Max Caster went into business for himself and abandoned Anthony Bowens and Billy Gunn.

Caster started doing his “Best Wrestler Alive” gimmick and each week he would get destroyed by any superstar that answered his challenge. However, there was a sea of change in the past couple of months.

While Caster was miserably failing, Anthony Bowens was doing his own thing as “The Pride of Pro Wrestling” and he was more successful than not. But Bowens started to fall down the card after losing at All In. The 34-year-old reached a boiling point when he answered Max Caster’s challenge the second time and won decisively. Caster, due to his sheer charisma and some eympathy, was gaining the support of fans. Bowens was not. He let his frustrations out and violently attacked Caster after their match was all said and done.

Now Bowens is angry and tired of Max Caster’s schtick. While on the outside, the reasoning for Bowens sudden turn seems surface level, it actually goes deeper than what we’ve seen as fans. Anthony elaborated further on his anger towards his ex-tag team partner during his interview with MuscleManMalcolm.

“Okay, from a viewer’s perspective, I can understand how you think I might have been a little bit excessive in my beating of Max Caster; however, if you only knew what that man put me through for these four years, going on five years, at AEW, you would understand why I went berserk. I have not had the opportunity to tell my side of things in depth of what this man, the chaos — how much I feared for my job. How much chaos he brought, how many times I had to defend him. So, yeah, when I get the opportunity to go out there and whip his ass, I’m gonna go out here and kick his ass.”

We haven’t fully heard Max Caster’s side of the story just yet. But now that you understand Anthony’s side a bit better, do you want to see him kick Max Caster’s ass? AEW seems to be developing this feud currently, though with All Out a couple of weeks away, it wouldn’t be surprising if another match was made between these two. Check out the full interview where Bowens goes further into depth about his career.
