Audio Of AEW Star Sammy Guevara Saying He Wanted To "Rape" Sasha Banks Resurfaces

The recent allegations of sexual misconduct against (now former) OTT Champion David Starr have given way to the #SpeakingOut movement, with many women and men in the pro-wrestling business sharing their stories via social media.

One of the bigger names to be thrown in the mix is All Elite Wrestling's Sammy Guevara, who is a prominent member of Chris Jericho's Inner Circle.

Audio from an old podcast interview has resurfaced, and "The Spanish God" can very clearly be hear saying he wanted to rape Sasha Banks when he laid eyes on her at a WWE tryout.

While Sammy is obviously joking, this is still a pretty vile comment, and the interviewer either chose to ignore it and move on or didn't really hear what he said.

We're not making excuses for Guevara here, but it is worth pointing out that the culture was very different just four years ago when this interview took place, and while rape jokes were never okay and would still have been frowned upon, they weren't recognized as or called out for being so damaging and irresponsible.

AEW has yet to respond, but we'll keep you guys updated.
