Wheeler Yuta is making his return to the indies.
The AEW star is taking a break from the Death Riders action on October 30th as Wheeler Yuta is scheduled to face a rising star in the professional wrestling landscape, Joseph Alexander. Beyond Wrestling has confirmed that the two will meet at their Wrestling 200 show at White Eagle in Worcester, Massachusetts.
The former ROH World Television Champion doesn’t work many independent dates, but Yuta is still pretty active on the indie scene despite being one of the focal points of AEW television. This is the first time Yuta has worked a Beyond Wrestling show since 2023 where he was working with the promotion on a regular basis.
The 29-year-old made his debut for the promotion back in 2017. Though he signed with AEW in 2020, he continued to fight in Beyond Wrestling until he became a regular on AEW television.
As for his opponent, Joseph Alexander, the 25-year-old is a newcomer to the business as Alexander didn’t get his start in wrestling until 2021. Joseph signed with Beyond this year and has 21 matches with the promotion thus far. He’s also competed in Action Wrestling, Major League Wrestling, and Paradigm Pro Wrestling. Alexander has yet to win any titles within Beyond, though he’s managed to win a couple throughout the indie circuit such as the PPW Super Middleweight Championship and MidwestTerritory.com Champion.
Wheeler Yuta isn’t the only big name to compete on tomorrow’s show as Swipe Right (Ticky Smokes & Brad Baylor) will take on the Shooter Boys. Swipe Right is primarily featured on WWE’s Evolve, though he's made a couple of appearances on NXT. The duo was part of the faction known as The Vanity Project, though that group has gone through changes since Bryce Donovan, and Zayda Steel are no longer part of the WWE ID program.
Other names that currently compete for Beyond is Ortiz, as the former Inner Circle will also compete for Beyond Wrestling next month as he’s scheduled for their Novembercanrana event on November 14th.
