Will Britt Baker ever return to AEW?

The disappearance of Britt Baker on AEW television remains strange.

Britt hasn’t had a match on AEW television since November 13, 2024. In fact, we’re coming up on a year without the former AEW Women’s World Champion being on any sort of AEW programming.

At that time, it was believed that Baker was off AEW programming due to filming commitments, but reports have suggested that Baker’s time off of AEW has something to do with the backstage heat she received in her return to television last year. Though that rumor have never been confirmed.

Fast forward to the September 24th episode of AEW Dynamite where the company was in Baker’s hometown, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Many thought that she would finally make her return to television, but that ended up being the opposite. There was no mention of Baker nor was there even a tease that she would be coming back in the future.

Now there’s questions on whether the AEW original is coming back at all. Baker is still contracted under AEW under 2026/early 2027, but a recent discovery has showcased that she may never return to television. Baker has scrubbed her social media profile of AEW. This was first discovered by Dave Meltzer, who feels that the company may never use her again.

“Baker has removed AEW from her social media profile. When she wasn’t at the Pittsburgh show I took that as she’s not going to be used again. Whether it was they thought she was headed to WWE (she’d get a huge pop at first but in other ways it may be difficult long-term because of the style difference).”

Baker is very active on her social media accounts. Though her profile doesn’t mention AEW, she does have a post pinned of her saying that she's the face of the AEW women’s division on Twitter. Otherwise, Baker has not spoken out about her contract situation. Tony Khan has addressed it, but he gave an answer that isn’t very satisfactory to fans.

“Britt Baker, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., and what a great star in AEW Dr. Britt Baker has been and she is still a fantastic, fantastic wrestling star and she’s been away from AEW for a while but still very much with us and at some point, hopefully soon, I’d love to see Dr. Britt Baker come back.”

Will Britt Baker ever return to AEW television? We’ll find out someday.
