CM Punk Reveals Whether Former WWE Superstar AJ Lee (AJ Mendez) Is Planning To Return To Wrestling

AJ Lee is one of WWE's most popular female Superstars, but we haven't seen her in the ring since 2015. Now, her husband, CM Punk, has revealed whether AJ could potentially step back into the squared circle...

AJ Lee played a crucial role in changing the perception of female wrestlers in WWE, and fans were devastated when she left the company in 2015. Of course, given how they'd treated her husband, CM Punk, that wasn't overly surprising and Lee (real name, AJ Mendez) hasn't stepped back into the ring since.

With Punk making his in-ring return for AEW, there's been a lot of speculation that AJ could join him.

During a recent interview with the New York Post, the "All Elite" pro wrestler addressed whether his wife - who has become an accomplished writer since leaving WWE - could step back into the squared circle.

"I just want to say, no," the Best in the World stated. "Just because [of] her neck. The reason she stopped wrestling is because of her neck. She’s got a bad neck, you know. I wouldn’t want her to jeopardize [her] health and neither would she, so we’ll put an end to that rumor right now."

Lee hasn't competed since the March 30, 2015 episode of RAW where she teamed with Paige and Naomi to defeat The Bella Twins and Natalya. That came the night after WrestleMania, a PPV that saw her and Paige beat Nikki and Brie in a tag team match.

As noted, Mendez has been busy with a writing career since leaving the world of pro wrestling behind, so there's no real need for her to step back into the ring unless she's desperate to. Plus, it wouldn't be sensible for her to put her health at risk, so it seems her time in WWE might be it for AJ and in-ring action.
