This past Saturday on AEW Dynamite, Mr. Brodie Lee defeated Cody in a matter of minutes to win the TNT Championship. The American Nightmare appeared to suffer an injury (storyline) during the match, and the subsequent beat-down will reportedly lead to him being written off TV for a while.

PWInsider has heard that Cody will be out of action for at least a couple of weeks to sell the injury, and may not return until the All Out PPV on September 5th. There's also speculation that Rhodes will be using this time to film a cameo for upcoming STARZ wrestling drama series, Heels.

Cody's defeat this past Saturday was a big shocker - even with spoilers doing the rounds online beforehand. The prevailing theory is that he'll be back with a new attitude, more prepared to take the fight to Lee and the Dark Order.

We should get an update on his status this Thursday on Dynamite. You can find out what else to expect from the show below.
