Could we get a Darby Allin heel turn soon?
The former TNT Champion is coming off the biggest win of his career as Darby Allin successfully beat Jon Moxley in a wild and unforgettable I Quit match. However, something that was very interesting during the build was during that sit down between the two men on Dynamite, Darby Allin stated that he’s thought about joining the Death Riders everyday.
Could this be a way to plan seeds on a possible heel turn?
Though it seems that Allin and Moxley are still feuding based on the fallout episode where the 32-year-old came out and helped The Conglomeration fend off the Death Riders, there’s still an intriguing possibility that Allin could turn over to the dark side very soon.
Speaking on the Maggie and Perloff show, Allin talked about the chances of him going heel and he’s open to the idea if it feels right.
“You know, honestly, it’s just wherever the wind takes me, and I feel a lot of fans, they’re always like, ‘Darby! You don’t have to go crazy anymore to impress us.’ I’m like, ‘I’m not doing it for you. I’m doing it for me.’ I actually love going out there and jumping off ladders or whatever it is I get myself into.
But I also on the flip side, I do see how fast the fans forget about you. I do see how quick they move on. Say if you got an injury or something, they’re, alright, what’s the next shiny toy? So in that sense, I could see being a heel and just straight up being like, you are so ungrateful for what it is that we do. But at the end of the day, I don’t do it for them so I feel like you can’t get mad at them for that. But, who knows? Wherever the wind takes young Darby Allin. Maybe I will go rogue…”
It would genuinely be shocking if Darby Allin turned heel as he’s one of the popular babyfaces on the AEW roster. On the flip side, there’s a strong possibility that Allin could make an excellent heel. Other than him mentioning that he’s thought about joining The Death Riders, there hasn’t been any signs that he’s turning heel anytime soon. But in the world of professional wrestling, never say never. Darby’s career is going to be fun to watch in the coming years.
