Dave Meltzer Talks About The Strange Disappearance Of Andrade From AEW Television

The former United States Champion has seemingly vanished from AEW television altogether since his shocking return at the company's Homecoming show. Where is Andrade?

Where the hell is Andrade?

The former WWE United States Champion shocked the masses when he returned on the Homecoming edition of AEW Dynamite a couple of weeks ago. This was fresh off of him being directly fired from WWE on September 13, 2025.

All signs pointed to Andrade vs. Kenny Omega at WrestleDream this Saturday, but the interesting part is that Andrade seemingly vanished from AEW television since his re-debut. He did win the Crash Heavyweight Championship a couple of days after he made his surprising AEW return, but he’s yet to make another Dynamite or Collision appearance since October 1st.

What’s more interesting is that a recent match involving Andrade was just cancelled. He was supposed to face La Parka on October 26th at Mucha Lucha. Instead, the match was replaced with Mascarita Sagrada vs. Demus.

Recently, Don Callis held a birthday party (which is up on AEW’s Twitter channel) and he was notably missing from that segment as well. There’s never any mention of Andrade whatsoever. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer talked about the situation and apparently the people in AEW are keeping their lips sealed about Andrade’s strange disappearance.

"There's people who know, but they're keeping quiet. They're not telling me, but they know," he said. "So, they forced me to speculate, which I'm not going to do. As far as I know, he's still booked for a show on Saturday in Puerto Rico. We'll find out if he does that show or not. He is challenging for the [WWC] Universal title down there on that day."

With one Dynamite/Collision episode to go, it’s quite possible that Andrade returns tonight and a match between him and Kenny Omega is made official. The former AEW World Champion will be in action as he’ll team with Jurassic Express to take on Mark Davis, Hecichero, and Josh Alexander.

Then again, Meltzer did state that Andrade has a match booked for Saturday, so it’s quite possible that he never had a match scheduled for WrestleDream in the first place. Whatever the case may be, Andrade’s disappearance is certainly strange since the guy only made his return less than four weeks ago. As always, we’ll keep an eye out on this situation as it continues.
