Tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision featured a few more matches in the 2025 AEW Continental Classic tournament, as well as the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royal match.
Regarding the Continental Classic, two bouts took place in the Blue League and one within the Gold League.
First up, Jon Moxley defeated Roderick Strong in his penultimate Blue League match, putting him now at a 6 point total. This is still not the top of the Blue League, though, as Konosuke Takeshita and Claudio Castagnoli—both of whom did not compete on this set of tapings—are slightly ahead with 7 points after having their draw against each other.
The other Blue League contest was between Orange Cassidy and Mascara Dorada, with Cassidy pulling out the victory. He is also tied with Moxley with 6 points now, while Dorada trails with 3, still sitting above Strong's 0 point total. Strong is mathematically ruled out of the tournament now, as at best, he can only win his next two matches to end up with 6 points total, which would put him below Takeshita and Castagnoli for both that league winner spot and the runner-up spot.
The deciding factor of the Blue League may very well come down to the eventual Takeshita vs. Cassidy match more than anything else, which has not yet been announced.
Over in the Gold League, PAC defeated Kyle Fletcher to get his total up to 6 points, on par with The Protostar. At this point, everyone in the Gold League is tied with 6 except for Kevin Knight and Jack Perry, who both have 3 points.
At this set of tapings, Tony Khan announced Kevin Knight against Kazuchika Okada and "Speedball" Mike Bailey against Jack Perry, likely for Dynamite on 34th Street (unconfirmed at the time of this publication).
For quick reference, here is the current points tally:
BLUE LEAGUE:
Orange Cassidy (2-1 | 6 points)
Claudio Castagnoli (2-1 with 1 draw | 7 points)
Máscara Dorada (1-2 | 3 points)
Jon Moxley (2-2 | 6 points)
Roderick Strong (0-3 | 0 points)
Konosuke Takeshita (2-0 with 1 draw | 7 points)
GOLD LEAGUE:
Jack Perry [*taking over for Darby Allin] (0-2 | 0 points)
"Speedball" Mike Bailey (2-1 | 6 points)
Kyle Fletcher (2-2 | 6 points)
Kevin Knight (1-2 | 3 points)
Kazuchika Okada (2-1 | 6 points)
PAC (2-1 | 6 points)
Over on the Dynamite Diamond Ring side of the news, the two finalists came down to Ricochet and Bandido.
Those two will face each other next week at AEW Dynamite on 34th Street, with the winner going on to fight for the AEW Men's World Championship at AEW Maximum Carnage on January 14, 2026.
