We were a little surprised when AEW announced plans for a Women's Tag Team Championship Tournament - mainly because there aren't really any established female teams in the promotion - but it looks like they've overcome that problem by bringing in some new talent.

Following the debut of Ariane Andrew (WWE's Cameron) on this past Wednesday's episode of Dynamite, Chris Jericho revealed on his YouTube show that former NXT Superstar Taynara Conti will also be a part of the tournament and will team with The Dork Order stunner Anna Jay.

Conti was used quite a bit on NXT TV but never received any kind of push. The Brazilian martial arts expert seemed very capable in the ring, but there were rumors that he lack of English and backstage attitude may have held her back. Conti reportedly asked for her release in late 2019, but was only let go earlier this year as part of WWE's company-wide talent purge.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of impact she's able to make in AEW - if she'll even stick around beyond this tournament.
