Hikaru Shida And Kenny Omega/Adam Page Retain Their Respective Championships At AEW FYTER FEST

Three championships were on the line during night one of AEW's Fighter Fest, and while none of 'em changed hands, we were treated to some solid title matches involving Hikaru Shida, Kenny Omega, and more.

In addition to Cody vs. Jake Hager for the TNT Championship, the first night of Fyter Fest also saw Hikaru Shida take on Penelope Ford with the AEW Women's Championship on the line, and Kenny Omega & Adam Page defending the AEW Tag-Team Championships against Best Friends.

In am encounter that some - including Chris Jericho - consider to be the match of the night, Shida managed to retain her title against a game Penelope Ford, who easily delivered her best in-ring showing yet. Ford came close, but in the end the Japanese star was able to keep her opponent down with a Falcon Arrow and a stiff Shining Wizard combo.

Then, in the main event, Best Friends attempted to win their first Tag-Team Championships when they faced Kenny Omega and Adam Page. This was a decent match, but there was only ever going to be one outcome, and "The Hangman" scored the win for his team after hitting his Buckshot Lariat.

After the match, FTR made their way to the ring to offer the winners a beer, and while Page happily accepted, Omega acted life a total asshole and spilled the bottle in front of Cash and Dax.
