Is Jack Perry returning soon?
After Daniel Garcia beat Jack Perry at Full Gear last year, Perry vanished from the face of the Earth. At least in AEW. The former TNT Champion competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling for a bit, but then Perry disappeared from the wrestling world. Until now.
The Young Bucks didn’t have a good night on Sunday. Matthew and Nicholas were drowning out their sorrows in pizza and anything that was available during the early hours in London. Then, the brothers get a call. The ID of the number says Jack Perry, but Matt decides to not take the call.
Is there trouble in paradise between Jack and The Bucks?
AEW seems to be bringing alot of people back to television and “The Scapegoat” could be next. However, since Matt ignored the call, it may not be all sunshine and rainbows between Perry and The Bucks.
There was some tease of an alliance between Perry and The Death Riders, but that ultimately went nowhere. AEW could still do something with that as The Death Riders are currently in recruitment mode, but it’s quite possible that Perry may come back as a babyface.
Granted, we haven’t seen any character development that would warrant a babyface Jack Perry out of the blue, but stranger things have happened in the world of professional wrestling. Either way, it should be fun to see what they do with Perry during his latest run.
His “scapegoat” run was solid, but the wonky storytelling (especially after him and The Elite attacked Tony Khan) made his run rather lackluster. Jack Perry is talented, he just needs a good story to back him up.
As for the reasoning why Perry was out for so long? It all comes down to AEW not having anything for Jack following his loss to Daniel Gracia. He’s healthy and there were reports that he was backstage in AEW last month in good spirits. Again, it seemed like AEW had something planned with Perry and The Death Riders, but that storyline never came to fruition. There's no word on when Perry will make his return nor has it been confirmed that he'll be returning anytime soon. We simply have to stay tuned to see when the former TNT Champion could reappear on AEW television.
