A former Impact World Champion vs. the current AEW World Champion.
All signs point to Kyle Fletcher vs. Adam “Hangman” Page at All Out, especially when the TNT Champion challenged the Hangman on Collision.
But on Wednesday, Page shouldn’t be worried about Fletcher as Josh Alexander is his opponent on Dynamite. The Don Callis Family member aided in Kenny Omega's assault last week so Page will come in with revenge in mind. However, a match against the Canada native won’t be an easy one.
Though the 38-year-old has yet to win any titles within AEW, Josh is an accomplished athlete who’s won the Impact and X-Division titles on multiple occasions. In fact, Josh is one of the longest reigning Impact World Champions, with his second reign clocking in at 336 days. The AEW star is also an MLP Canadian Champion. Page has his work cut out for him on Wednesday.
But he isn’t the only champion who will be in for a fight.
Toni Storm pulled herself into a four way match against Jamie Hayter, Kris Statlander, and Thekla at All Out, but she’s not going to leave her bout against Skye Blue on Dynamite 100%. That’s because the two women will be in a Philly Street Fight; now Toni is no stranger to hardcore matches of this nature, but it can really backfire on her Wednesday if she can’t put away Skye very quickly.
This Wednesday’s Dynamite is shaping up to be something huge. As an added benefit, former AEW and WWE World Champion Bryan Danielson will officially join the commentary team full time. That news was confirmed by Tony Khan on Saturday, though it’s not clear who’s coming off the commentary booth for Bryan.
Below is the advertised line-up for the next Dynamite. There’s several matches that have the potential to be something memorable.
AEW Dynamite (9/10)
- Hangman Page vs. Josh Alexander
- Mercedes Mone & Emi Sakura vs. Riho & Alex Windsor
- Ricochet vs. Shelton Benjamin
- Philly Street Fight: Toni Storm vs. Skye Blue
