Jon Moxley turned down Darby Allin's challenge for a match at Forbidden Door, but things have gotten much worse for The Death Riders because of it.
Tonight on AEW Dynamite, Moxley defeated "The Jet" Kevin Knight in the opening match of the show. After the bell, Darby Allin came out to the ring carrying a body bag and went on the attack. However, Allin was overtaken by the 4-on-1 fight against The Death Riders and soon found himself in the bag himself, with Claudio Castagnoli spinning him around.
Will Ospreay then made his return and ran out to the rescue, helping Allin fight them off and issuing an updated challenge for himself to find some teammates to face The Death Riders and their friends in a Lights Out steel cage match at Forbidden Door.
Later, Ospreay made a phone call and convinced Hiroshi Tanahashi to join their team, and it was also announced that The Golden Lovers (Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi) would team with Ospreay and Allin as well.
The Death Riders, in turn, have recruited Gabe Kidd from New Japan Pro-Wrestling, as well as The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) to their team of Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Castagnoli, continuing their ongoing alliance with those three from the past several months.
