Mercedes Mone Vs. Kris Statlander Made Official For AEW's FULL GEAR

Mercedes Mone is coming after what Kris Statlander loves.

Sunday should’ve been a joyous celebration for Mercedes Mone. The AEW star managed to capture her eleventh title by beating Mina Shirakawa for the Interim Women’s TV Championship.

However, following her huge title win, AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander came to the ring and confronted Ms Mone. The TBS Champion attacked Statlander, but the AEW Women’s World Champion ultimately got the better of the situation and sent Mone out of the ring embarrassed.

That pissed off Mercedes and she made her next mission statement clear: she’s coming after Kris Statlander’s AEW Women’s World Championship at Full Gear.

It certainly didn't get better for Mone on Wednesday night. Just as she tried to embarrass Harley Cameron, Kris Statlander had other plans. The AEW Women's World Champion officially accepted Mone's challenge for Full Gear.

This is the third chapter in the Mone/Statlander saga and the former has the upper hand coming into their latest bout. Mercedes owns two victories over Statlander; the first was at Full Gear 2024. Statlander got a rematch at World’s End and she still couldn’t get the job done. But neither could Mone when she first challenged for the AEW Women’s World title at All In. 

Prior to her loss at All In, Mercedes was undefeated in singles matches. Though she did fail to beat Toni Storm for the world title, her win/loss record is still incredible. At the moment, that’s the only match confirmed for Full Gear. Given the big heel turn from Samoa Joe where him and The Opps beating the crap out of Hangman Page then it wouldn’t be a surprise if Joe/Hangman II took place on that show as well, but nothing has been made official just yet. 

Will 12 belt Mone turn in 13 at Full Gear? We’ll find out soon! At the moment, it seems that Statlander is the only putting up her title, though that could change very soon.
