On tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash, a few updates took place for the upcoming final pay-per-view of the year, AEW Worlds End, going down at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois on December 27, 2025.
The biggest news was the surprise return of Maxwell Jacob Friedman, who came out during the contract signing segment between Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and "Hangman" Adam Page.
MJF still has his contract for a world title match at his request (where he needs to give at least one week's notice) which he won from the Casino Gauntlet match earlier this year. He has decided to execute this contract and has chosen to insert himself into the previous three-way for the AEW Men's World Championship, turning it now into a four-way for the title.
Keep in mind that the winner of that match will go on to defend the title at AEW Maximum Carnage on January 14, 2026 against the winner of the Dynamite Diamond Ring, which will be either Bandido or Ricochet as determined in tonight's battle royal, depending on who wins their finals match on AEW Dynamite on 34th Street.
Also added to the Worlds End card will be The Babes of Wrath defending their AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship titles against the ROH Women's World Champion Athena and the AEW TBS Champion (among many other belts) Mercedes Mone. This came about after Mone scored the pinfall for her team of Athena, Megan Bayne, and Marina Shafir in an eight-woman tag team match opposite Harley Cameron, Willow Nightingale, and The Timeless Love Bombs (Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa).
With that in mind, here is the updated lineup for AEW Worlds End 2025's card:
- 2025 Continental Classic Semifinal: Blue League Winner vs. Gold League Runner-Up
- 2025 Continental Classic Semifinal: Gold League Winner vs. Blue League Runner-Up
- 2025 Continental Classic Final: Semifinal #1 Winner vs. Semifinal #2 Winner
- Tag Team Match for the AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship: The Babes of Wrath (c) vs. Athena and Mercedes Mone
- Singles Match for the AEW Women's World Championship: Kris Statlander (c) vs. Jamie Hayter
- Four-Way Match for the AEW Men's World Championship: Samoa Joe (c) vs. "Hangman" Adam Page vs. MJF vs. Swerve Strickland
