Tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite (August 20, 2025), taking place at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, will air starting at 8 p.m. on TBS and HBO Max, but was actually recorded in advance (meaning SPOILERS below!)

This post will be updated throughout the evening to reflect live coverage of all the important information, noteworthy things that transpire, winners for all the match results, recaps of promo/talking segments and more. Keep refreshing for the most up-to-date results!

Preview & Predictions for AEW Dynamite:

On tap for tonight's episode, Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley will have a face-to-face promo to build some more hype up for their Lights Out Steel Cage Match at Forbidden Door. Then, there will be a trios match featuring three of the Death Riders (along with Marina Shafir on the outside) against New Japan Pro Wrestling's Hiroshi Tanahashi and JetSpeed. I fully anticipate JetSpeed taking the loss there.

There will be a promo segment of some sorts with the world champion, "Hangman" Adam Page, addressing his title defense against Maxwell Jacob Friedman. MJF left Hangman beaten down in the parking lot last week, so expect some cowboy sh*t in revenge.

AEW Women's World Champion "Timeless" Toni Storm teams with Alex Windsor against their two opponents at Forbidden Door, the ROH Women's World Champion Athena and AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone. Windsor is the most likely to take the fall in this bout, if I were to venture a guess. It's not outside the realm of possibility for one of the three champions to lose to make someone look good, but pinning the non-champion of the bunch just feels like the safest bet.

Lastly (though this won't be the only other thing that happens on the show, obviously), FTR and Brodido fight it out to see who wins the tournament to earn a tag title shot against The Hurt Syndicate at Forbidden Door. I fully anticipate FTR winning this, and for something else to happen with Christian Cage and Adam Copeland to push that story further, too.

Spoiler Warning!

Final warning if you don't want to know what happens before it airs tonight! Everything below is being written prior to the episode's broadcast.

Here are your results for AEW Dynamite - August 20, 2025:

  • Will Ospreay started off the show with a promo about how he hasn't been cleared to compete, but since the Lights Out steel cage match is unsanctioned, it doesn't matter anyway. Death Riders came to the ring and went on the attack. Ospreay was backed up by Speedball, The Jet, and Hiroshi Tanahashi, leading into their scheduled trios match.
  • Trios Match: Hiroshi Tanahsahi and JetSpeed ("The Jet" Kevin Knight and "Speedball" Mike Bailey) defeated Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta) by pinfall. After the match, Gabe Kidd, Drilla Maloney, Clark Conners, Robbie X, The Young Bucks, Paragon, Darby Allin, and The Opps all got into a giant brawl.
  • Adam Copeland and Christian Cage had an in-ring promo segment with Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne. Luchasaurus is taking Wayne's place at Forbidden Door after returning.
  • AEW World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Tournament Final: FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) vs Brodido (Bandido and Brody King) ended in a time limit draw, so both teams will face The Hurt Syndicate at Forbidden Door for the tag titles.
  • "Hangman" Adam Page cut a promo in the ring. In the back, MJF, Ricochet, and The Gates of Agony beat down Mark Briscoe and used him as hostage bait to force some changes from Page for their match at Forbidden Door. The title can now change hands on a disqualification or count-out, and MJF's Casino Gauntlet contract is not being used for this.
  • Athena and Mercedes Mone defeated "Timeless" Toni Storm and Alex Windsor
