The Jurassic Express is back!
It’s been a miracle to see the former AEW World Tag Team Champions reunite. Once Perry and Luchasaurus separated in 2023, both men went out and did their own thing as singles stars. Perry became the TNT Champion and almost put an end to Tony Khan’s short wrestling career. Luchasaurus was a part of the Patriarchy stable until he was forced to step away from wrestling due a severe case of pneumonia in both of his lungs.
Both men came together at All Out and the reunited duo are set to face their biggest foes at the moment, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson of the Young Bucks. It’s certainly a joy to see Jurassic Express together again and even their opponents on Saturday appreciate their return to AEW.
“It’s kind of crazy that AEW has now been around long enough to already have a rich history with acts that feel, in a way, nostalgic,” said Jackson. “Jurassic Express just feels warm, fun, and familiar. When their music hits, it just brings out the kid in everyone.
The fact that we all get to share a ring together again on pay-per-view is not lost on any of us. I think there’s a real appreciation from their side that this is even happening at all. Jack isn’t the same naive, young Jungle Boy who rode on the neck of Luchasaurus from before. He’s been through a lot. And Luchasaurus had a very serious close call in real life, that we experienced in real time as it happened.
Sometimes in life, we don’t understand that the best times that we’ll one day look back at so fondly are happening right before our eyes. I think we’re taking this all in. I’m interested in seeing these two characters who’ve since been on separate journeys, coming back together, and what that might look like.”
Despite their clear hatred for the duo, the Bucks plan to go out there and have a great match. Matthew and Nicholas feel that they’ve really hit their stride this year and will continue their pursuit in having strong matches.
“We have really found that spark again, that love of the game,” said Jackson. "who is always in pursuit of that next great match. “It’s been a year where we’ve really dug into our old bag of tricks and gone all out, so it only makes sense to go out there and kill it with two AEW originals. We all take great pride in our matches together.”
Will the Bucks and Jurassic Express create something memorable? We’ll find out this Saturday at WrestleDream!
