The Young Bucks will make their return this Wednesday.

In a somewhat surprising move, AEW has put two of their young newcomers against the returning former AEW World Tag Team Champions in a match on Dynamite. Matthew and Nicholas Jackson are scheduled to fight against Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey on this week’s episode.

This comes after The Bucks made their shocking return at Dynasty by costing Swerve Strickland the AEW World title match against Jon Moxley. The last time Matthew and Nicholas competed in AEW was on October 30, 2024 where they dropped the tag titles to Private Party at the Fright Night Dynamite special.

Since that time, The Young Bucks have been mainly competing in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. They went over to the Japanese company and won the IWGP Tag Team titles at Wrestle Dynasty. Sadly, they didn’t keep the belts for long as The Bucks dropped them to Tetsuya Naito and Hiromu Takahashi the following month. In the meantime, when the Bucks were out fighting in New Japan, Knight and Mike Bailey were making an impact in AEW.

Knight is no stranger to New Japan as he’s also signed to the promotion; however, he’s never gotten a chance to face the Bucks. Though Knight and Bailey aren’t on some massive winning streak, they’ve been having great showings against some of the upper card names such as Will Ospreay, Kenny Omega, and Jay White. It’s quite possible that AEW will give Bailey and Knight the upset win over the Bucks; Perhaps Swerve will cost the former AEW World Tag Team Champions the victory this time around. That’s just speculation on my end as there’s been no word on what the plans are for this match on Wednesday.

But that isn’t the only confirmed match on Dynamite.

That match joins one of the Owen Hart Cup tournament matches as former TBS Champion Kris Statlander will take on former AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter. This will be the first time that these women meet. Whoever wins this match will take on Mercedes Mone at Double or Nothing.

This Wednesday is shaping up to be a really good show!
