The first episode of AEW Dynamite starts off with a bang!

In Kenny Omega’s first championship defense, the cocky AEW World Champion will fight Rey Fenix in a match that should’ve taken place during the AEW World Title Eliminator tournament. The last time these two men collided, Omega beat Fenix and became the AAA Mega Champion at AAA Heroes Inmortales XIII. Will Rey Fenix return the favor by taking the AEW World title?

For the AEW Women’s Championship, Hikaru Shida will put her belt on the line against Abadon. Since winning the belt at Double or Nothing, Shida has managed to successfully defend her title five times and even owns a victory over Abadon on AEW Dark in March. Will Shida continue her dominance as champion by beating the challenger again?

Expect appearances by former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, Sting, TNT Champion Darby Allin, FTW Champion Brian Cage, and Snoop Dog. Check out the advertised matches below:

AEW World Championship match: Kenny Omega (c) vs. Rey Fenix

AEW Women’s Championship match: Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Abadon

The Young Bucks & SCU vs. The Acclaimed & TH2

Cody Rhodes vs. Matt Sydal

Wardlow vs. Jake Hager

One of the good things going for AEW is they have title matches on tv regularly compared to WWE. The storyline of many isn’t there yet but it is developing over time.
