"You Talk Too Much Sh*t Without Proof": Andrade Lays Into Dave Meltzer For Incorrect Reports About AEW Exit

Andrade left WWE, signed with AEW, returned to WWE, and recently went back to AEW. Now, the former United States Champion has laid into Dave Meltzer for his reporting about the circumstances behind that.

After parting ways with WWE in late September, Andrade made his AEW return during last week's episode of AEW Dynamite. Dave Meltzer has repeatedly claimed that the former NXT Champion left WWE under questionable circumstances, going so far as to allege that he failed multiple drug tests.

Meltzer didn't seem overly happy to see Andrade back in AEW, and later shared his belief that the former WWE Superstar might have upset AEW President Tony Khan when he left that promotion in 2023.

"Andrade led Tony Khan to believe he was re-signing," Meltzer stated. "Khan thought they had a renewal agreement in place, though it wasn’t signed yet. Khan pursued him until the last moment, despite insiders knowing Andrade was headed to WWE. When Andrade’s contract expired, he left."

"He’s talented in the ring, but so is everyone these days," the insider and historian argued. "Five years ago, Andrade was uniquely special, but now many wrestlers match or surpass him in skill, mic work, and charisma."

Several wrestlers have taken to social media to debunk Meltzer's reports in recent years, leading to him becoming a divisive, somewhat unreliable source for inside information in the eyes of fans.

Andrade, who has remained largely silent on his WWE departure beyond thanking the company, took to X yesterday to hit back at Melzter and clear up what he considered to be the reporter's misleading statements about his first AEW exit.

"@davemeltzerWON You talk too much s*** without proof, and Sir, I’ll only tell you one thing: when my contract with AEW ended, I personally went man to man to thank MR. TONY KHAN for the opportunity to be in AEW, and that’s all I’ll tell you," he wrote. "If I wanted to talk more, I would show you that you’re wrong about many things. But you keep killing the business! Yo le deseo lo mejor!!"

For whatever reason, Meltzer has been highly critical of Andrade's WWE return, sharing his belief that Khan has made a mistake by bringing him back into the fold. Given the constant negative headlines, it's not hard to see why Andrade decided to chime in.
