During Monday night's episode of RAW, an unhappy Sasha Banks and Naomi ditched their Women's Tag Team Championships and walked out of the show while it was on the air. This wasn't a storyline and is said to be a result of both women being unhappy with how they're being booked by WWE.
Banks and Naomi were expected to put their title reign on hold for individual feuds with RAW Women's Champion Bianca Belair and SmackDown Women's Champion Ronda Rousey. They'd have come out on the losing end of both matches at Hell in the Cell, and it sounds like neither were happy about being made to look like ineffective champions after spending months building the titles up.
Rumour has it they don't have much support backstage (a lot of WWE Superstars have had to swallow bad creative decisions), but we now have possibly details on each of their contract statuses.
Rumour has it that Banks' WWE deal is nearly at an end, while Naomi was in the midst of contract talks prior to the walkout. Neither of them are expected to appear at SmackDown tonight, so nothing has been resolved between the two sides and this could be the beginning of the end for them in the company. WWE will likely want to stop them from signing with AEW, so it's possible they will look for a way to freeze both of their deals until they return to work and, essentially, do what they're told.
It's an interesting situation, but one that hasn't really gone further than online scuttlebutt since Monday. Both Banks and Naomi have yet to make a statement or respond to WWE's recent claims.
