This Saturday, a new bantamweight champion will finally be crowned.

After serving as the Bellator Bantamweight Champion for 166 days, Kyoji Horiguchi was forced to vacate the belt on November 27, 2019. Now, two of the top athletes will fight for the prestigious belt on Sept. 12.

Coming in, Juan Archuleta has a near perfect record when it comes to Bellator MMA. Since joining the promotion back in 2018, the 32-year-old has beaten nearly everyone that’s crossed his path, notably Ricky Bandejas (via unanimous decision at Bellator 214), Eduardo Dantas (via KO at Bellator 222), and Henry Corrales (via unanimous decision at Bellator 238). The only blemish on Archuleta’s Bellator record stands from his title loss to Patricio Freire at Bellator 228.

His opponent, Patrick Mix, enters the contest undefeated. The 27-year-old also has big wins over Ricky Bandejas (via submission at Bellator 222) and Isaiah Chapman (via submission at Bellator 232), with ten of his fights ending by either TKO or submission.

The upcoming main event should be an exciting contest between the two top Bellator competitors. Before we get to their big fight on Saturday, check out the training regime for both Archuleta and Mix below:
