Two big names have re-signed with Bellator MMA.
The promotion confirmed that Bellator Welterweight Champion Douglas Lima and Women’s Flyweight Champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane have inked new deals. While the exact details of their contracts weren’t revealed,
Bellator stated that both have indeed signed an exclusive multi-year, multi-fight extensions to remain with the ViacomCBS-owned promotion.
Lima has been with Bellator since 2011 and managed to win the Welterweight title on three separate occasions. The Brazil native is currently on a three-fight winning streak with Lima winning the Welterweight Grand Prix by beating Andrey Koreshkov, Michael Page, and Rory MacDonald to capture the belt for the third time.
Ilima-Lei Macfarlane has been with the promotion since 2015 and has yet to suffer a loss in her professional career. The Hawaii native won the Women’s Flyweight title back in November 2017 and successfully defended the belt four times, with her recent win being over Kate Jackson at Bellator 236.
