Another MMA promotion is forced to postpone a big pay-per-view due to the coronavirus as CES 61 will no longer take place on April 24.
The show had a potentially exciting Flyweight Championship fight between Blaine Shutt and Richie Santiago. Shutt was set to defend the title for the first time since defeating Johnny Lopez for the belt at CES 60. Santiago is coming off a strong win over Giorgi Kudukhashvili at the same pay-per-view.
Former UFC star Andre Soukhamthath would’ve also made his re-debut as the bantamweight was confirmed to fight Da’Mon Blackshear. The 31-year-old is coming into the bout on a two-fight losing streak, with Soukhamthath’s last win taking place at UFC Fight Night Moncton back in October 2018.
Former UFC talents Kyle Bocniak and Austin Arnett were also set to compete at the special event as well. As of this writing, there’s no word on when the pay-per-view card will take place. Thus far, no other events are scheduled until further notice.
