Cris Cyborg is the new Bellator Women’s Featherweight Champion!

In the midst of a busy Royal Rumble weekend, the former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion made her debut against Julia Budd at Bellator 238 Saturday evening. Going in, Budd had been on a strong 11-fight winning streak; The Canada native hasn’t lost a fight since November 18, 2011. That submission loss was to Ronda Rousey back in Strikeforce.

The women pulled out all the stops in their title fight on Saturday evening; however, during the fourth round, Budd got caught with an overwhelming combination that led to Cyborg getting the TKO victory.

This marks the fourth championship that the 34-year-old has won in a different promotion. Including the UFC Featherweight Championship, Cyborg has won the Strikeforce Women's Featherweight World Championship, and Invicta FC Featherweight World Championship.
