Cris Cyborg continues her dominance in Bellator MMA.
Last week, the Bellator Women’s Featherweight Champion defended her belt for the first time against Arlene Blencowe and the Brazilian made quick work of her challenger thanks to a second-round submission, which is a first for Cyborg’s career.
While Blencowe got in a few nice punches, Cyborg ultimately dominated the fight thanks to her ground game that saw the challenger take a huge amount of damage before finally losing at the 2:36 mark.
In the co-main event, Higo also made a statement by getting a strong win over Ricky Bandejas. Like Blencowe, Bandejas got in some solid shots; however, Higo was never in danger and the bantamweight put an end to the bout with a second-round submission.
The previously announced fight between Patricky Freire and Jaleel Willis was scrapped due to the former Bellator Lightweight Champion suffering from labyrinthitis.
The rest of the card saw mainly TKO or submissions wins, with only one fight resulting in a unanimous decision. Check out the full results for Bellator 249 below:
