Cris Cyborg will officially defend the Bellator Women’s Featherweight title for the first time on Oct. 15th.
Back in January, the former multi-time featherweight champion pulled off an incredible victory again as Cyborg beat Julia Budd – who was on a 11-fight winning streak – to capture the Bellator Women’s Featherweight belt. Now, the Brazilian will defend her belt for the first time against Arlene Blencowe.
Blencowe comes into the bout in the midst of a three-fight winning streak, beating Amber Leibrock (via TKO at Bellator 206), Amanda Bell (via KO at Bellator 224), and Leslie Smith (via unanimous decision at Bellator 233). Blencowe’s professional record currently stands at 13 wins and 7 losses.
Before the big featherweight clash between the two women the reigning champion uploaded a video showcasing her training regime for the upcoming fight, along with various statements regarding her mental state coming into her first title defense. Check out the special Cyborg video below:
