Former UFC Fighter Mad Burnell is now a member of the Bellator MMA roster.
As first reported by TSN reporter Aaron Bronsteter, the 26-year-old has signed a deal with the MMA promotion, though the exact details of the contract are currently unknown. Burnell had a brief stint with the UFC back 2017 and 2018, with the fighter being 1 -3 following his departure.
Since that time, Burnell has rebounded greatly by getting big wins during his time in Cage Warriors. Burnell’s strong wins over Lukasz Rajewski (via submission at Cage Warriors 99) and Ahmed Vila (via submission at Cage Warriors 103) earned him a championship match against Dean Trueman at Cage Warriors 106. The veteran would ultimately win the CWFC Featherweight Championship after a second-round submission.
Burnell makes the transition over still as champion, thus he’ll be stripped of the prestigious belt very soon. He’ll be competing in the featherweight division with Patricio Pitbull (Bellator Featherweight World Champion), Juan Archuleta, Adam Borics, and Derek Campos. Burnell enters with a professional record of 13 wins and 3 losses.
