Bellator has added a new bantamweight to their division.
According to Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA, Magomed Magomedov has signed a deal with the MMA promotion, though the details of his contract remain unknown. The Russia native has competed in several promotions such as Absolute Championship Akhmat, M-1 Global, and ProFC.
The new Bellator fighter is a former Absolute Championship Berkut bantamweight champion, beating current UFC Bantamweight title holder Petr Yan for the belt at ACB 32 in 2016. Yan would get his win back at ACB 57; however, that’s the only professional loss for Magomedov thus far. The 28-year-old has had 16 fights and won 11 of those bouts by either submission or TKO. His record currently stands at 16 wins and 1 loss.
Bellator MMA has been signing numerous fighters lately, with the most notable being LFA Featherweight Champion Justin Gonzales, former two-time M-1 Light Heavyweight Champion Viktor Nemkov, LFA Lightweight Champion Bryce Logan, Rustam Khabilov, and Jeremy Kennedy. There’s no word on when Magomedov will make his debut for the company.
