A former UFC Featherweight has now joined Bellator MMA.
MMA Junkie confirmed that Jeremy Kennedy has signed a deal with the promotion, though the details of his contract remain disclosed. The 28-year-old mainly saw success during his time with the UFC as he dropped Alessandro Ricci, Rony Jason, and Kyle Bochniak.
While Alexander Volkanovski beat Kennedy, thus becoming the first man to defeat Kennedy in his professional career, the promotion still had high hopes for the Canadian as the company looked to re-sign the featherweight. After a long negotiation, Kennedy opted to not re-sign with UFC and inked a deal with Brave CF instead.
Since then, Kennedy has had six fights and only lost one bout. The former UFC star also competed in Professional Fighters League. Kennedy enters the promotion with a record of 15 wins, 2 losses, and 1 no contest.
Bellator MMA has been signing numerous fighters lately, with the most notable being LFA Featherweight Champion Justin Gonzales and former two-time M-1 Light Heavyweight Champion Viktor Nemkov. Kennedy will be competing in the featherweight division with Patricio Pitbull (Bellator Featherweight World Champion), Juan Archuleta, Adam Borics, and Derek Campos.
