Two former UFC stars got into a scrap during a staredown.
It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Darren Till and Luke Rockhold. But these two former UFC stars are scheduled to clash at the upcoming Misfits Boxing 22 next month. Till and Rockhold were doing the usual press conference and things got heated as the pair became entangled in a grappling scuffle.
It seems like the duo is just playing around as they were able to get back on the stage and were mostly laughing during the scuffle. But this two did have a fiery war of words during the press conference.
Till was a hot commodity when he came into the UFC in 2013. The England native was an undefeated fighter who was gaining heat thanks to his impressive wins over Donald Cerrone and Stephen Thompson; however Till fumbled when he fought Tyron Woodley for the UFC Welterweight title.
After that fight, Till’s career wouldn’t be the same as he only got one win afterwards. He moved up the middleweight, but he still dropped fights against Robert Whittaker and Dricus du Plessis. Darren was an entertaining fighter, but it was clear after his loss to Plessis that the magic he had in the beginning was gone. Till requested his release in 2023 and UFC granted it.
Since then, Darren has ventured into boxing and he made his debut for Misfits back in January. Rockhold was in the same boat as he negotiated for his UFC release in 2023. The 40-year-old had been in the UFC for nearly a decade before his exit. He got massive wins over Chris Weidman, Lyoto Machida, and Michael Bisping, though the final years of his career saw him take some major losses that had him on the three fight skid.
Originally, the plan for the former UFC Middleweight Champion was for him to retire, but Rockhold ended up doing Bare Knuckle Fighting and Karate before diving into boxing. Misfits Boxing is scheduled for August 22, 2025. Rockhold and Till aren’t the only former UFC stars on the card as Tony Ferguson and Salt Papi are scheduled to fight on that pay-per-view as well.
