Another UFC veteran has joined Bellator MMA.
As first reported by ESPN, former UFC lightweight Rustam Khabilov has signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion, though the exact details of his contract remain unknown. Khabilov competed in the UFC from 2012 to 2019.
The 33-year-old actually did well as Khabilov holds victories over top fighters Jorge Masvidal, Vinc Pichel, and Sergey Khandozhko. While Khabilov won 11 out of his 14 UFC fights, he was ultimately let go from the company back in late 2019.
Khabilov has managed to win four out of his last five fights, also beating Jason Saggo (via unanimous decision at UFC 206), Desmond Green (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 115), and Kajan Johnson (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 136). His overall professional record stands at 24 wins and 4 losses.
Bellator MMA has been signing numerous fighters lately, with the most notable being LFA Featherweight Champion Justin Gonzales and former two-time M-1 Light Heavyweight Champion Viktor Nemkov. Khabilov joins a stacked division featuring Saad Awad, Benson Henderson, Usman Nurmagomedov, Patricky Pitbull, and Patricio Pitbull.
