Eric Spicely has quickly rebounded from his UFC release.
Earlier this month, the middleweight was terminated from his contract after withdrawing from his fight against Markus Perez at UFC Vegas 5. According to MMA Fighting, Spicely will make his return to the octagon for Taura MMA on November 22. His opponent has yet to be confirmed.
This will be the first time that the 33-year-old competes since June 2019 at UFC Fight Night 154; Though Spicely owns victories over Leo Pla (via TKO at CES 54) and Caio Magalhães (via TKO at CES 55) in his last five fights, the middleweight’s losses overshadows his wins as Spicely has dropped bouts to Gerald Meerschaert (via TKO at The Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale), Darren Stewart (via TKO at UFC Fight Night 130), and Deron Winn (via TKO at UFC Fight Night 154). His professional record currently stands at 12 wins and 5 losses.
Spicely is the second former UFC fighter to join Taura MMA in August as former UFC Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao inked a three-fight deal with the promotion earlier this month. He’s also expected to make his debut with the company on November 22 as he’ll be headlining the event against Bobby Moffett.
