Paul Kelly will be making his way back into the world of mixed martial arts.
In the mid 2000’s, the United Kingdom native was quickly making a name for himself within MMA. Kelly first started making noise in his homeland; however, he transitioned to the UFC back in 2008. His career within the promotion didn’t necessarily reach the big highs it could have due to several key loses against fighters such as Marcus Davis and Donald Cerrone. Kelly was released from the promotion a short time later.
The 35-year-old took on several fights for smaller promotions until he was found guilty in 2013 of heroin trafficking in the United Kingdom and was sentenced to 13 years in prison. Kelly was released in 2019.
Now, the fighter is looking to make his return inside the octagon, as he’s booked for “Probellum Liverpool” on March 7. An opponent has yet to be confirmed for the welterweight. This will be Kelly’s first fight since March 2013. Thus far, his professional mixed martial arts record stands at 14 wins and 5 losses.
