Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett will fight for the first time in three years, as he’ll take on Ronny Markes at Bellator 241.
Prior to his hiatus from the octagon, Barnett got a win over Andrei Arlovski at UFC Hamburg in 2016. The fighter saw mixed results during his final years with the promotion, as the former UFC Heavyweight Champion won three out of his last five fights. Barnett’s professional record currently stands at 35 wins and 8 losses.
Markes will be making his Bellator MMA debut here, as the heavyweight is coming off a win over Sigi Pesaleli at Professional Fighter’s League 3. Markes has also competed in M-1 Global, UFC, and Platinum Fight Brazil. Markes’ professional record stands at 19 wins and 7 losses.
Bellator 241 takes place on Friday, March 13 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Patricio Pitbull and Pedro Carvlaho headlining.
