ONE Championship confirmed several big fights including the return of former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez, who will take on Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev at ONE Infinity 1 on May 29.
Alvarez is coming off a win over Eduard Folayang during the ONE Lightweight Grand Prix; however, the 36-year-old was forced to pull out of the overall competition due to injury. Arslanaliev is coming into the bout looking to bounce back from his loss against Christian Lee at ONE Championship: Century Part 1.
Also, on the May 29th card, ONE Lightweight Champion Christian Lee will fight Luri Lapicus. The Singapore native is currently in the midst of a four-fight winning streak, having defeated Kazuki Tokudome, Edward Kelly, Shinya Aoki, and as previously stated, Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev.
His opponent, Luri Lapicus, is currently undefeated inside the octagon thus far, as the lightweight has won all fourteen of his professional fights. Lapicus is coming off a victory over Marat Gafurov at ONE Championship: Warrior's Code.
At ONE Infinity 2 on April 10, ONE Middleweight Champion Aung La N Sang will put his title on the line against Vitaly Bigdash. Sang and Bigdash are no strangers to one another as both men have previously fought each other twice.
The first time, Bigdash got the victory via unanimous decision at ONE Championship: Quest for Power. The second was for the ONE Middleweight Championship where Sang ended the 35-year-old’s title reign via unanimous decision.
ONE Infinity 1 takes place on Friday, April 10 from the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia with Adriano Moraes and Demetrious Johnson headlining. ONE Infinity 2 takes place on Friday, May 29 from the Mall Of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines with Brandon Vera and Arjan Singh Bhullar headlining.
