Unfortunately, ONE Championship is forced to cancel several upcoming events that were set to take place on April 17th and April 24th due to the coronavirus.

The CEO of ONE Championship confirmed the news through his Facebook that the promotion is forced to scrap ONE Championship: Hope and ONE Championship: Strength due to the new COVID-19 restrictions. The Singapore Government has enforced a partial lockdown where only essential services (such as food, healthcare, and transportation) are allowed to run.

In addition, China has temporarily closed their borders, so fighters such as Brandon Vera – who’s currently the ONE Heavyweight Champion – won’t be able to get into the country.

As of now, the next show for the promotion is on May 1; however, even that event is currently in question due to the coronavirus. ONE has been forced to axe several big events since March, with the ONE Middleweight Championship fight between Aung La N Sang and Vitaly Bigdash being one of the notable bouts scrapped from the last several pay-per-views.

There’s no word on whether these fights will be rescheduled for a later date. As always, we’ll keep you updated regarding any other news with ONE Championship and upcoming events.
