Originally scheduled for Bellator 241 on March 13, the Bellator Featherweight Championship match between Patricio Freire and Pedro Carvalho has been rebooked as the main event for Bellator 251.
The Brazil native is coming off an impressive victory over Juan Archuleta at Bellator 228 in California. Freire is currently in the midst of a strong five-fight winning streak, which also saw him capture the Bellator Lightweight World Championship from Michael Chandler back in May 2019. The Brazilian also beat Daniel Straus via submission at Bellator 178. His title fight against Carvalho will serve as the quarterfinal bout of the Featherweight World Grand Prix. Freire's professional record currently stands at 30 wins and 4 losses.
Pedro Carvalho enters the title match on a six-fight winning streak, besting Sam Sicilia via submission at Bellator 226. The featherweight has also gotten big wins over Luca Vitali (via submission at Bellator 211) and Derek Campos (via TKO at Bellator Birmingham). The featherweight hasn't lost a fight since 2015, with his overall professional record standing at 11 wins and 3 losses.
Bellator 251 takes place on Thursday, November 12 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Patricio Freire and Pedro Carvalho headlining.
